Description

Delightful Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls swirled with juicy strawberries and topped with a creamy glaze, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 12 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough: In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt, stirring to mix well. In a saucepan, gently heat the milk and butter over low heat until melted, allowing it to cool slightly before adding. Pour the warm mixture into the dry ingredients, followed by the egg. Mix until a soft dough forms, then knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  2. Let it rise: Transfer your dough to a greased bowl, cover it with a damp towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 60 minutes or until it has doubled in size.
  3. Form the rolls: Once risen, punch down the dough to release air. Roll it out into a rectangle, about 10×14 inches. Spread chopped strawberries evenly over the surface, then sprinkle the cinnamon and brown sugar mixture on top. Starting from one long end, roll the dough tightly into a log and slice it into 1-inch pieces.
  4. Second rise: Arrange the sliced rolls in a greased baking pan, leaving space between them. Cover and let them rise for another 30 minutes, allowing them to become pillowy.
  5. Bake: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and beautifully fragrant.
  6. Prepare the glaze: In a medium bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, cream cheese, vanilla extract, and just enough milk to achieve a smooth consistency.
  7. Serve: Drizzle the warm glaze generously over the rolls right before serving.

Notes

For a vegan version, replace the egg with a flaxseed egg, and use non-dairy milk and cream cheese alternatives. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
