Description

A delightful fusion of spaghetti and pizza, this Spaghetti Pizza Casserole is a warm, comforting dish that combines savory sauces, melted cheese, and a variety of toppings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz spaghetti
  • 1 lb ground beef (or sausage)
  • 1 jar (24 oz) pizza sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup pepperoni slices
  • 1/2 cup diced bell peppers
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook spaghetti: Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain it and set it aside.
  3. Brown the meat: In a non-stick skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
  4. Simmer the sauce: Stir in the pizza sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Allow it to simmer for about 5 minutes.
  5. Combine ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, toss the cooked spaghetti with the meat sauce, half of the mozzarella cheese, and half of the pepperoni.
  6. Fill the baking dish: Transfer the spaghetti mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  7. Top it off: Sprinkle the rest of the mozzarella cheese, followed by the remaining pepperoni, bell peppers, and black olives.
  8. Bake: Place the dish in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Cool and serve: Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Make-ahead tips: Assemble the casserole a day ahead, refrigerate and bake just before serving.
