Description

Crispy pretzel-crusted chicken served with a creamy mustard-cheddar sauce, perfect for a cozy dinner or meal prep.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups pretzel crumbs
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Season the chicken generously with salt and pepper.
  3. Prepare a breading station with three shallow dishes: flour, beaten eggs, and pretzel crumbs.
  4. Coat each chicken breast in flour, then dip into the egg, and finally press into the pretzel crumbs.
  5. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and fry chicken for 3-4 minutes on each side.
  6. Transfer the chicken to a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  7. In a saucepan, combine cheddar cheese, Dijon mustard, and sour cream over low heat, stirring until melted.
