Description

Tender meatballs featuring a savory blend of beef and pork with hidden rice for a delightful texture, all simmered in zesty marinara sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 cup uncooked rice
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 ounces) marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Combine the ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, bring together the ground beef, ground pork, uncooked rice, chopped onion, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Gently mix until just combined.
  2. Shape the meatballs: With slightly wet hands, form the meat mixture into uniform meatballs, about 1 inch in size.
  3. Brown the meatballs: Heat olive oil in your skillet over medium heat. Carefully add the meatballs in batches, browning them on all sides for approximately 5-7 minutes.
  4. Simmer in marinara: Once browned, pour the marinara sauce over the meatballs. Cover the skillet and reduce the heat to low, allowing them to simmer for 30-40 minutes.
  5. Serve smiling: Dish these hearty meatballs hot, optionally drizzling with extra marinara sauce. Serve with crusty bread or over a bed of pasta.

Notes

These meatballs can be made ahead and frozen for later cooking. They can also be baked or air-fried for a healthier alternative.
