Instructions
- Prepare the onion: Peel the outer layer and slice downwards to create petal-like slices, stopping short of the root.
- Mix the flour mixture: In a bowl, combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper; whisk until blended.
- Submerge the onion in buttermilk to soak up moisture.
- Coat the onion: Remove from buttermilk, let excess drip, and coat generously with the flour mixture.
- Spray with cooking spray, then coat in breadcrumbs, ensuring each petal is covered.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and crunchy.
