Description

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the dried cranberries and orange zest.
  5. Whisk together the heavy cream, egg, and vanilla extract in another bowl.
  6. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
  7. Knead the dough on a floured surface a few times to bring it together.
  8. Pat the dough into a circle about 1 inch thick and cut it into wedges.
  9. Place the scones on the prepared baking sheet.
  10. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the tops are golden brown.
