- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup dulce de leche or caramel sauce
- 1/4 cup sugar (for coating)
- 2 tsp cinnamon (for coating)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
- Mix the melted butter and 1/2 cup of sugar until creamy in another bowl.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and whisk until fully combined.
- Gradually add the flour mixture and milk, mixing gently until just combined.
- Fill each muffin cup halfway, add a dollop of dulce de leche, and cover with more batter.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Combine the remaining sugar and cinnamon; roll warm muffins in this mixture to coat.
Notes
Avoid overmixing the batter and skipping the sugar coating for the best results.
