An indulgent Christmas Eve lasagna that brings family and friends together with its rich layers of cheese, meat, and homemade sauce.

- 9 lasagna noodles
- 1 lb ground beef or sausage
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground meat and brown, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- Pour in the marinara sauce, stirring well. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Mix the ricotta cheese, egg, parsley, salt, and pepper in a separate bowl until combined.
- Spread a layer of meat sauce at the bottom of your baking dish.
- Place 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce, top with half of the ricotta mixture, and sprinkle generously with mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat the layering process, finishing with a layer of meat sauce.
- Sprinkle the grated Parmesan on the top layer. Cover tightly with foil.
- Bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbling.
- Let the lasagna cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
You can make the lasagna a day ahead and refrigerate it overnight for deeper flavors. Consider using an air fryer for a crispy top layer.
