- 1 cup sourdough starter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
- Whisk together the sourdough starter, flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl until well combined.
- Whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, and eggs in another bowl until creamy.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and gently fold until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Divide the batter among the muffin cups, filling each about two-thirds full.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow the muffins to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Make-ahead tips: Prepare the batter a day in advance and store in the fridge. You can also bake them in an air fryer for a different texture.
