- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup apple cider
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Caramel sauce for glazing
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease each cavity of your donut pan.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Mix Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk the apple cider, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Combine the Mixtures: Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and fold gently until just mixed.
- Fill the Pan: Spoon or pipe the batter into the greased donut pan, filling each cavity about two-thirds full.
- Bake: Bake for about 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool: Let the donuts rest for 5 minutes before flipping out onto a cooling rack.
- Glaze with Caramel: Dip the top of each donut in warmed caramel sauce and let the glaze set before serving.
Notes
Make ahead the batter the night before and bake fresh donuts in the morning. These donuts can also be made in an air fryer.
