- 1 package Gnocchi (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 lb Lean ground beef
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- 1 Onion, chopped
- 3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 Carrot, diced
- 1 Celery, diced
- 28 oz Canned tomatoes (crushed or diced)
- 1/2 cup Red wine
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Parmesan cheese, for serving
- Fresh basil or parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion, garlic, carrot, and celery; sauté until tender, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the ground beef, breaking it apart and browning for 7-10 minutes.
- Pour in the red wine and simmer for a few minutes until the alcohol evaporates.
- Stir in canned tomatoes and Italian seasoning; season with salt and pepper. Cover and let simmer for 20-30 minutes.
- Bring a large pot of salted water to boil; cook gnocchi according to package instructions until they rise to the surface.
- Drain the gnocchi and gently fold them into the skillet with the sauce.
- Serve topped with freshly grated Parmesan and herbs. Enjoy!
