Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips (optional)
  • Flaky sea salt for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a large bowl.
  3. Incorporate the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Mix the dry ingredients in a separate bowl and whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture, mixing on low until just combined.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips, ensuring even distribution.
  7. Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes, or up to 24 hours.
  8. Prepare baking sheets with parchment paper.
  9. Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared sheets, leaving space in between.
  10. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until edges are set and golden brown.
  11. Add flaky sea salt after removing from the oven.
  12. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
