Description
Delicious wraps filled with crispy halloumi, fresh vegetables, and sweet chili sauce for a delightful meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 slices halloumi cheese
- ¼ cup sweet chili sauce
- 1 cup shredded cabbage
- ½ cup grated carrot
- 4 large tortillas
Instructions
- Slice and cook the halloumi: Begin by slicing your halloumi into half-inch thick slices. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and add a drizzle of olive oil. Place the halloumi slices in the pan, cooking them until they turn golden on both sides—around 2 to 3 minutes each side will do the trick.
- Add the sweet chili sauce: Once the halloumi is beautifully golden, drizzle or brush the sweet chili sauce generously over the warm cheese, allowing it to soak in and enhance the flavor profile.
- Prepare the veggie mix: In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded cabbage and grated carrot. Toss them gently to mix the colors and textures.
- Warm the tortillas: Gently warm your tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave until they are soft and pliable, making them easier to roll without tearing.
- Assemble the wraps: Lay each warm tortilla flat, and in the center, layer a generous portion of the veggie mix followed by the sweet chili-glazed halloumi slices.
- Roll and serve: Fold the sides of the tortilla over the filling, then roll it from the bottom to the top, encasing the delicious filling securely. Slice the wraps in half for easy eating, and serve immediately while all the flavors are at their peak.
Notes
Make-ahead tips: You can prepare the shredded cabbage and carrots in advance and store them in the fridge for up to 2 days. Halloumi can also be sliced ahead of time, making your assembly straightforward during mealtime.
