Description

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (optional, to taste)
  • 2 1/4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips or chunks

Instructions

  1. Cream the softened butter and cream cheese until fluffy.
  2. Add the sugars and beat until well combined.
  3. Incorporate the egg and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
  4. Combine the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and optional salt, mixing gently.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips by hand.
  6. Chill the dough for at least 2 hours.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare the baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 8 to 9 minutes until edges are set but the center is underbaked.
  9. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
