Description

Prosciutto-Wrapped Asparagus is a simple yet elegant appetizer that combines the savory flavor of prosciutto with the fresh crunch of asparagus.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bunch of asparagus (about 20 spears)
  • 10 slices of prosciutto
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Parmesan cheese (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Wash and trim the asparagus, removing the tough ends.
  3. Wrap each asparagus spear with a slice of prosciutto, starting from the bottom and spiraling up to the tip.
  4. Place the wrapped asparagus on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Drizzle olive oil over the asparagus and season with salt and pepper.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the prosciutto is crispy.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Garnish with Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

  • For a lower sodium option, use low-sodium prosciutto.
  • Asparagus can be blanched for a couple of minutes before wrapping for a softer texture.
  • This dish can be served warm or at room temperature.
