Delightful mini pretzel dogs wrapped in soft, chewy pretzel bread, perfect for snacking or sharing at gatherings.

- 1 pound hot dogs
- 1 cup warm water (about 110°F / 43°C)
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 package active dry yeast
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- Coarse sea salt for topping
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Allow it to sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add flour and salt. Mix until a dough starts to form.
- Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Divide the dough into small portions. Roll each piece into a long rope and wrap it around a hot dog.
- In a pot, bring water to a boil and add baking soda. Carefully submerge each pretzel-wrapped dog for about 30 seconds.
- Remove and place them on a baking sheet. Lightly sprinkle with coarse sea salt.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve with mustard or your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
For make-ahead, prepare the dough a day in advance and refrigerate. You can also air-fry these pretzel dogs at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes.
