- 3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 pound)
- 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 4 thick slices French or Italian bread
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Prepare a baking dish by spraying it with nonstick spray to prevent sticking.
- Season the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper. Heat your skillet over medium-high heat, adding olive oil if desired. Sear the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and fully cooked.
- Rest the chicken briefly to keep it juicy.
- Melt the butter in a bowl and stir in the minced garlic. Optionally, add fresh herbs.
- Spread the garlic butter generously on each slice of bread. Layer with cooked chicken and mozzarella, then top with another slice of buttered bread.
- Bake the sandwiches for 10-15 minutes until the cheese bubbles and bread is crispy.
- Serve warm, cutting the sandwiches in half if desired.
