- 1 lb fresh asparagus, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the asparagus pieces and cook for 3-4 minutes until tender but still crisp.
- Toss in the cooked pasta and mix well to combine.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- If desired, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
- For a vegan version, omit the Parmesan cheese.
- Feel free to add other vegetables like cherry tomatoes or spinach.
