Description

Delicious, quick, homemade pretzel bites perfect for sharing, dipping, and enjoying at any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup baking soda
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Coarse sea salt (for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until it froths.
  2. Stir in the flour and salt until a dough forms. Knead mixture on a floured surface until smooth and elastic (about 1-2 minutes).
  3. Roll the dough into small balls (golf ball-sized) and shape into pretzel knots or keep round.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  5. In a separate pot, bring water to a simmer and whisk in the baking soda.
  6. Briefly dip each pretzel bite into the boiling baking soda water for about 30 seconds, then remove them with a slotted spoon.
  7. Place bites into the air frying basket, brush with egg wash, and sprinkle with coarse sea salt.
  8. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Serve warm.

Notes

For a twist, add cheese cubes inside, or try adding garlic powder or cinnamon sugar on top. Can also be made in the oven at 425°F (220°C) for 10-12 minutes.
